What is a B Corp?
A B Corp is a company independently certified by B Lab for meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. It recognises businesses that use their work as a force for good, balancing commercial decisions with positive long‑term impact.
Why did Emerge Digital become a B Corp?
We became a B Corp to formalise how we already operate: responsibly, transparently and with people at the centre. It strengthens accountability in how we make decisions, builds deeper trust with our clients and community, and publicly commits us to continuous improvement over the long term.
It also aligns with our purpose as a technology partner focused on improving working lives and creating real‑world positive impact.
What was the process to become certified?
Certification involved:
• Completing the B Impact Assessment, demonstrating high standards across the five assessed areas.
• Providing detailed evidence for our practices in governance, workers, environment, community and clients.
• Making the legal amendment that embeds stakeholder consideration into our Articles of Association.
• A verification process with B Lab to review our assessment, documentation and commitments.
The full process took two years and ends with signing the B Corp Declaration of Interdependence.
What does being a B Corp mean for how Emerge works day to day?
It means our decisions consider people, clients, community and planet alongside commercial goals.
For clients, this shows up in how we:
• Operate transparently and ethically.
• Prioritise long‑term value over short‑term wins.
• Protect data and adopt technology responsibly.
• Continue improving our environmental and social impact each year.
It doesn’t change who we are, it formalises the standards we already held ourselves to.
What does this mean for me as a client?
You can trust that we’re operating to independently verified standards, not self‑declared claims.
This includes:
• Responsible use of technology and AI that supports healthier, more productive working environments.
• Robust data protection and transparent practices.
• A consistent focus on long‑term partnership, quality and accountability.

Nothing changes in terms of your services or pricing, but it strengthens the assurance behind the work we do.
Does B Corp certification change our products, services or pricing?
No. B Corp certification does not change the services you receive or how much you pay.
What it does mean is that we’re continuing to improve how we operate behind the scenes, including developing new practices and resources that support responsible, long‑term value creation.
Some of these will be particularly useful for purpose‑led businesses and fellow B Corps looking to strengthen their ESG performance, but none of these initiatives will ever be compulsory. They’re designed to help, not impose requirements, and you can choose to use them only if they benefit your organisation.
How will Emerge continue improving its impact?
Certification is the starting point, not the finish line. We will:
• Publish an annual B Impact Report showing progress and future commitments.
• Continue reducing our environmental footprint, including our Net Zero planning and refurbished hardware initiatives.
• Invest in our team through fair pay, professional development and wellbeing.
• Support local communities and charities through volunteering, sponsorships and pro‑bono work.
• Strengthen governance through regular board reviews of social and environmental performance.
